flagpole.JPGSaturday the 15th of March, for the first time in the short life of CIST, the Cambodian flag have beeb hoisted on our brand new flag pole. All students, Staff members and teachers were present on the ground floor for this ceremony, and moreover we had the great honour to hava among us Benoit Genuini our “Passerrelles Numériques” president.

Now every day two students are on duty to put the flag on the air at 8 am and to put it down at 6 pm.
I will send you a photo tomorrow just to find to do that !

Professional excellence

Monday, March 17th, 2008

(en français ci-dessous)
CIST staff currently benefits from an intensive training cycle, thanks mainly to Accenture short missions:
– “professional excellence” by Stéphanie Vielle and Thomas Corolleur,
– “management and leadership” by Sandrine Jallifier-Merlon,
– “java programming language” for the interested trainers, over 3 months, by Sophie Capron, a discreet and efficient local volunteer whom we will never thank enough…
A professional System Administrator ‘lent’ by Steria, Nicolas Lê, has just arrived for a 1-year mission. He will complete the training of our IT staff on working processes and procedures.

Besides training, Nicolas will share his time between two main missions:
– optimizing the Virtual Company of CIST, to make it a full-scale tool for the students to practice both their technical skills and their soft skills.
– with the Open Institute Cambodia, 2 days a week, participating to research on the most adequate hardware tools for the future equipment of all Cambodian high schools by the Ministry of Education.
This mission concretizes the opening of CIST towards the rest of the educational world, and brings us closer to the Ministry of Education, as was necessary to better integrate our action into a global policy.

Excellence Professionnelle
